Teen Drinking - More of a Problem Than You Think

Alcohol abuse is widespread throughout the United States.  It's a very large problem that affects people of almost every age group.  One age group this presents a problem in is that of adolescents (roughly 13-23 years of age).  This drinking can start at almost any age and can last throughout the adolescent's life in the form of alcoholism if this problem is not curbed.  It has many ill effects, affecting health, schooling and the adolescent's social life.

Drinking is especially a problem with adolesents because they are emotionally and rationally immature for the most part.  This is the stage of life where they make friends and break away from their parents.  School work gets tougher, especially in college, and most adolescents begin working in the middle to late stages of adolescence.  This is most definitely a very complicated stage in one's life and a very bad time to begin drinking.
